- FIFA previously noted Leondias da Silva with eight goals, as top scorer in 1938 World Cup. In November 2006 the number was revised to seven, because he decided only scored one goal while playing against Brazil in the quarterfinal of Czechoslovakia - not two as in previous records. But he still became the top scorer.
- Ademir Menezes "plus" collection tally to nine in the World Cup in 1950. At first he recorded only seven goals scored. Two additional records obtained from the revised goal Brazil vs Spain. One goal of suicide Spanish defender Parra, and one goal, Jair, have recently expressed FIFA's Ademir.
- Oleg Salenko is the only player who became the top scorer of his team were knocked out in the early rounds, at the World Cup in 1994. Interestingly, only six goals were scored Salenko contribution to his country (Russia), from eight caps he has.
- At the 2002 World Cup semi-final match against Turkey, Brazilian striker Ronaldo scored the first recorded protest against FIFA as opposing players commit suicide. FIFA granted the right to protest and Ronaldo bagging the goal.
- Thomas Mueller, Wesley Sneijder, David Villa and Diego Forlan were both scored five goals in World Cup 2010. They were the top scorer, but Mueller is entitled to receive the "Golden Boot" for having the highest number of assists than others. He made three assists, others just one.
- Villa managed to receive the "Silver Shoe" because of the short duration of play more than Sneijder. As for Sneijder won "Bronze Shoes" because the play no longer than Forlan. Remarkably, Forlan is a player who won "Golden Ball" aka the Golden Ball as best player of the tournament
